Precious Metals Prices

The image graph below shows today's Platinum Gold and Silver spot prices.

Bullion coinage is minted by numerous countries including the United States. Since 1986, the U.S. Mint has issued a $1.00 Silver Eagle coin containing one troy ounce of .999 pure silver.

The Gold Eagle coins contain .999 pure gold in the weights and denominations as follows, a $5.00 one tenth ounce, a $10.00 one quarter ounce, a $25.00 one half ounce and a $50.00 coin containing one full ounce fine gold.

In 1997 the U.S. Mint issued the Platinum American Eagles containing 999.5 pure platinum in the weights and denominations as follows, a $10.00 one tenth ounce, a $25.00 one quarter ounce, a $50.00 one half ounce and a $100.00 coin containing one full ounce of platinum.

Note; the face value is largely symbolic since their market value has historically been much higher.

These coins are minted in both Proof strikes and Mint State strikes, with an appropriate premium charged for the Proof coins. The Proof bullion coins are shipped with certification and very attractive packaging. Some of these bullion coins command a premium price due to low mintage in certain years.
