Raw - Quarters

There have been six major design types of quarters minted in the United States since 1796. They are Draped Bust, Capped Bust, Liberty Seated, Barber, Standing Liberty and Washington Quarters.

Each has at least one different variety, some like the Liberty Seated has five different variations. Our present day Washington Quarter has two different design types with each in two different compositions. Out this year are yet five more new variations and over the next 10 years there will be over fifty different variations of Washington Quarters.

The Barber quarter, called after the designer Charles E. Barber, with his initial B. at the truncation of the neck. Is also called the Liberty Head, it features a head of Liberty facing right.

The Standing Liberty quarter, a personal favorite, features a full-length figure of Liberty. Her left arm is upraised uncovering a shield in the attitude of protection and her right hand bears the olive branch of peace.

The Washington quarter minted in 1932 was intended to be a commemorative issue marking the two hundredth anniversary of Washington's birth.

One of the five reverses to be issued in 1999 A very popular design that will be getting much more attention over the next ten years with its fifty different reverse designs, look for them in your pocket change today.

Delaware the first state and the first of fifty quarters to be issued.
